Information You Submit
Search Entries
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the independent provider that operates that tool. Madison County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s privacy terms control its handling of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
An email or contact submission is retained as needed to answer the sender. Message information is not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Automatically Collected Details
Routine technical records may be created when a page loads. They can include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring site, when supplied; and
- request and visit timestamps.
Cookie Use
Cookies and similar technology help measure how visitors use the pages. Browser controls can reject or delete cookies, though blocking them may cause some features to work differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected data may be used to:
- operate the site and maintain acceptable performance;
- send a search request to the selected partner;
- understand which Madison County release resources visitors use;
- detect and repair technical failures; and
- display advertising that may reflect inferred interests.
Links and Outside Services
Links may lead to Madison County release records, sheriff and corrections pages, court or government portals, and outside search services. Once a visitor leaves, the destination’s privacy policy governs its collection and use of data.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to recognize activity across different sites and select targeted ads. That tracking occurs under the partner’s technology and terms, not as a Madison County government function.
Who May Receive Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be provided to:
- search partners that process a submitted query;
- analytics services that measure traffic and performance;
- advertising networks that deliver or measure ads; and
- law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal demand.
Security Is Best Effort
Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect information. No internet-connected service, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed fully secure or immune from a breach.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted data may use Contact Us to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held by the site, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or an opt-out from certain processing. These requests concern data controlled by this site. Madison County, IDOC, courts, search partners, and other linked custodians handle their own records under their own rules.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as services or legal duties change. A new version becomes available on this page with an updated effective date.
